Pack picks up two huge wins at Loper duals

KEARNEY, Neb. (GoThunderWolves.com - Jan. 19, 2013) - The CSU-Pueblo wrestling team completed their dual tournament schedule Saturday, finishing 2-2 on the day. The ThunderWolves began the day narrowly losing to San Francisco State, 24-18, before picking up a 20-15 win over Northern State. The host Lopers defeated the Pack 39-3 before finishing the day with a 35-13 win over Newman.

Jesse Hillhouse (Sr., Casper, Wyo.) continued his strong season with four wins on the day, the only wrestler to go undefeated. In three decision wins, Hillhouse surrendered only one point winning, 6-0, 7-1, 5-0. 

Nick Stahler (Sr., Palmer, Alaska) and Adam Carey (Sr., Phoenix, Ariz.) had a relatively strong day as they both picked up falls. Stahlers fall helped propel the Pack passed Northern State, sticking his opponent at 1:05. Grant got to work early, picking up a pin at 1:36 in the first match against San Francisco State. 

Trevor Grant (Jr., Winemucca, Nev.) picked up an impressive win when he was able to score a technical fall against Anthony Navarro of Northern State, 17-1. 

The Pack will play host to Colorado Mesa Wednesday at 7 p.m.
