CSU-Pueblo to wrestle at Bob Smith Open Sunday

PUEBLO, Colo. – The Colorado State University-Pueblo wrestling team will cross over the state line into Kansas to battle in the Bob Smith Open, to be held at the Gross Memorial Coliseum, Sunday on the campus of Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas.

The all day tournament will begin at 9 a.m. with over 17 teams and 150 wrestlers scheduled to participate.

The ThunderWolves return to the mat after last participating in the University of Nebraska-Kearney Holiday Inn Open on November 22.

The day was highlighted with a second place finish by freshman JaCobi Jones (Omaha, Neb.). Earning two pins and two one-point victories to charge into the 165-lb finals, Jones fell in a heartbreaker, 4-2 against Division-I foe Dustin Williams of the University of Nebraska.  


As a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, Colorado State University – Pueblo competes in 22 varsity sports in NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletics.
