ThunderWolves host Adams State in RMAC-opening dual Thursday; Travel to Midwest Duals


PUEBLO, Colo. (January 14, 2015) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo wrestling team will begin the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference dual season Thursday, Jan. 15 when it hosts Adams State University at 7 p.m. 

The ThunderWolves are 3-2 in duals this season.

Two nationally ranked wrestlers will feature the dual, as CSU-Pueblo's Tim Urenda (Jr., Pueblo, Colo.) is No. 8 at 141, while Adams State senior Jerry Huff is No. 3 at 125. Last season, the ThunderWolves lost to ASU 26-19 in a road dual.

The Pack last competed at the Tracy Borah Duals in Gunnison, Colo. where they went 1-2, which included a victory versus Grand Canyon University – the first victory versus GCU since CSU-Pueblo brought the wrestling program back in 2008. Freshman JaCobi Jones (Omaha, Neb.) was the only Pack wrestler to win twice without suffering a loss, while senior Niko Bogojevic (Superior, Wis.) went 2-1.

The match is the first action of the New Year for Adams State and will mark the first dual of the 2014-15 season.

CSU-Pueblo also competes in the Midwest Duals in Kearney, Neb. Jan. 17, where the squad will have four duals. The day begins at 8 a.m. with Southwest Minnesota State University and continues with Newman University (10 a.m.), Minot State University (12:30 p.m.) and concludes with host and national No. 3 University of Nebraska-Kearney (2:30 p.m.).


As a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, Colorado State University – Pueblo competes in 22 varsity sports in NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletics.
