Urenda records another victory versus a nationally ranked wrestler in RMAC dual loss

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (February 11, 2016) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo wrestling team fell to No. 11 Colorado Mesa University, 40-6, Thursday in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference dual.

Senior Tim Urenda (Pueblo, Colo.) won at 149 to improve to 7-1 in dual competition. His slim 4-3 win was thanks to a third period escape after being tied 3-3 with opponent Drew Schumann, who ranked No. 4 in Thursday's national ranking release. Urenda has now defeated the No. 2 and No. 4 ranked wrestlers in the nation this season. The senior was ranked No. 6 in Super Region Four in the Feb. 10 poll, while Schumann was No. 1.

Sam Hughes (R-So., Bolivar, Mo.) recorded his second win in as many duals with a 9-2 decision at 133.

Next for the Pack is a RMAC dual at New Mexico Highlands University, Feb. 17, which will wrap the dual season and serve as the final preparation for the NCAA Super Region Four Tournament in Gunnison, Colo., Feb. 26-27.
