PUEBLO, Colo. (November 29, 2016) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Head Wrestling Coach Dax Charles signed Pueblo County High School State Champion, Justin Davis, during the NCAA signing period earlier this month. Davis will join the ThunderWolves for the 2017-18 season.
All signees are contingent upon admission to CSU-Pueblo and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
"Justin is a state champ and is projected to wrestle at 141 or 149 for us next year," Charles said. "Justin comes to us from a strong and nationally ranked high school team in Pueblo County. He has a high moral character and is a solid addition to our program. I'm looking for Justin to become a leader in our program and compete for a national title during his time with us."

Pueblo County High School: Davis was the 2016 4A Colorado State Champion at 132 as a junior to help guide Pueblo County to the school's first-ever boys' state championship … A Class 4A Region 1 Champion in 2016 … Capped his junior year with a 32-5 record … Finished third at 132 in 4A as a sophomore to help Pueblo County finish second overall … Capped the Region 2 Tournament in 3rd to qualify for state … Recorded a 46-9 record as a sophomore … A state qualifier as a freshman after winning Region 1, Davis wrestled to a 34-11 record at 126.

The 2016-17 edition of the Pack will wrap the calendar year at the Reno Tournament of Champions Dec. 18 in Reno, Nevada.
