PUEBLO, Colo. (February 3, 2017) - The No. 15 Colorado State University-Pueblo wrestling team will compete at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships Saturday at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The ThunderWolves own an 8-5 dual record, which includes a 2-2 mark against RMAC foes. The Pack are coming off a 22-21 dual victory against No. 2 University of Nebraska-Kearney.

The Pack tout the last two RMAC Wrestlers of the Week, as JaVaughn Perkins (184, Omaha, Neb.) earned the honor Jan. 24 and PT Garcia (133, Denver, Colo.) was honored Jan. 31.

CSU-Pueblo moved to No. 15 in the latest d2wrestle.com national poll. The Pack have three wrestlers ranked in the top 10, as Perkins and junior 165 JaCobi Jones (Omaha, Neb.) were No. 4. Senior Kyle Bateman (Sandy, Ore.) is ranked No. 10 at 174.

Perkins owns a 7-3 record and has won six straight for a 6-1 dual record. Garcia has posted five consecutive victories and carries a 7-3 overall (7-1 dual) record. Jones has posted an 8-4 record with three pin falls. Bateman leads the squad in wins with 20 and owns a 20-8 record entering the championships. His six pins matches heavyweight Augie DeSantis (Escondido, Calif.) for the team lead. Both Josiah Seaton (125, Bonner Springs, Kan.) and Kyle Fantin (157, Cave Creek, Ariz.) have collected 16 victories, while Fantin went 3-1 in RMAC dual competition.

The ThunderWolves finished tied for fourth at the 2016 RMAC Championships and sent three wrestlers to the championship bout. Jones was crowed RMAC Champion at 157 and will look for a second title at 165 this year. He is opposite of the bracket of the runner-up at 157 last year, Jason Buhr from Colorado Mesa University. Jones defeated Buhr earlier this season by a major decision, 10-1.

Fantin was fifth at 141 at last season's championships. Bateman finished 1-2 at 165.

This will be the first RMAC Championships for seven of the 10 Pack wrestlers in the lineup.
