Pack Wrestling ranks No. 16; Three nationally ranked


INDIANAPOLIS (February 21, 2017) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo wrestling team will enter the 2017 NCAA Division II Super Region Four Championships ranked No. 16, according to the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association Poll, released Monday on Three members of the ThunderWolves are ranked nationally.

The Pack moved just one spot to No. 15 from the last ranking.

Three wrestlers are ranked in the nation's top 10, as junior JaCobi Jones (Omaha, Neb.) is No. 4 at 165. PT Garcia (R-So., Denver, Colo.) holds down the No. 6 spot at 133 and at 184, JaVaughn Perkins (R-Fr., Omaha, Neb.) sits No. 8.

The ThunderWolves are set to compete at the regional championships Feb. 24-25 in Golden, Colorado, hosted by Colorado School of Mines. The top four wrestlers in each of the 10 weight classes advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships.

As a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, Colorado State University – Pueblo competes in 22 varsity sports in NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletics.
