No. 16 Pack Wrestling set to takedown NCAA Regional Championships

PUEBLO, Colo. (February 23, 2017) - The No. 16 Colorado State University-Pueblo wrestling team takes to the mat at the NCAA Super Region Four Championships Feb. 24-25 in Golden, Colorado for the opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Division II Championships.

Colorado School of Mines serves as hosts for the event that begins Friday at 11 a.m. with Session I. Session II is set for 6 p.m. Friday and the action Saturday begins again at 11 a.m. All matches will be live streamed on trackwrestling.com HERE.

The top four wrestlers in each of the 10 weight classes will earn a spot at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships, set for March 10-11 in Birmingham, Alabama.

The ThunderWolves ranked No. 3 in the final d2wrestle.com regional rankings and have nine of the 10 wrestlers seeded in the top eight of their respective weight classes.

125 - Josiah Seaton (So., Bonner Springs, Kan.) - Owns a 20-14 record with two falls ... Posted an 8-7 mark in dual competition, which included a 4-3 mark in RMAC duals ... Finished fifth at the RMAC Championships ... Finished second at the UNO Open (Nov. 13) and fifth at the UNK Holiday Open (Nov. 19) ... Seeded No. 8 for the regional.

133 - #6 PT Garcia (R-So., Denver, Colo.) - Ranks No. 6 nationally with a 12-4 overall record and four pin falls ... Recorded a dual record of 9-1 with two pins, which included a 3-0 mark in RMAC bouts (one fall) ... Finished third at the RMAC Championships ... Named RMAC Wrestler of the Week on back-to-back weeks (Feb. 8 and Feb. 15) ... Seeded No. 2 for the regional.

141 - Jared Mestas (Jr., Pueblo, Colo.) - Owns a 9-7 record with one fall ... Recorded a 6-6 mark in dual competition, which included a 4-1 mark in conference duals ... Finished third at the RMAC Championships ... Seeded No. 6 for the regional.

149 - Clay Archer (Jr., Broken Arrow, Okla.) - Enters the regional championships with a 14-14 record and six falls, which is tied for second on the team ... Went 7-6 in dual competition with two falls ... Totaled a 4-1 record with two pins in RMAC dual competition ... Unseeded for the regional.

157 - Kyle Fantin (R-So., Crave Creek, Ariz.) - All-RMAC Second Team ... Owns the second most wins on the team with a 21-11 record and two pins ... Posted a 10-4 mark in dual competition, which included a 6-1 (one fall) mark in RMAC bouts ... Ranked No. 11 in the first edition of the national rankings ... Finished second at the RMAC Championships ... Was fourth at both the UNO Open (Nov. 13) and UNK Holiday Open (Nov. 19) ... Seeded No. 5 for the regional.

HWT - Augie DeSantis (R-Jr., Escondido, Calif.) - Carries a 17-13 overall record into the regional championships ... His six pins rank tied for second most on the team ... Finished the dual season with an 8-6 record and two falls, which included a 3-2 (one pin) record in RMAC duals ... Finished third at the RMAC Championships ... Seeded No. 7 for the regional.
