COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (October 4, 2016) - Colorado State University-Pueblo women's soccer player Jessica Westhoff (Jr., Centennial, Colo.) was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week announced Tuesday by league officials. Westhoff earned accolades after guiding the Pack to a 2-0 weekend record including a scoring a 2-0 victory over No. 3 Colorado School of Mines.
Westhoff and Co. scored a 1-0 win in overtime Friday at Colorado Christian. The Pack held CCU to six shots in the contest and just two in the second half and overtime combined.
Sunday versus the Orediggers Westhoff netted her first goal of the season in the 6' on a header shot received off a corner kick. Later in the 55' Westhoff picked up an assist after she took a free kick from beyond midfield feeding the ball in to the box to a waiting Pack player who headed in a shot above the goalkeeper reach to put the game out of reach.
CSU-Pueblo (6-3, 3-2 RMAC) remains home this week as they welcome Regis Friday at 7 p.m. and MSU Denver Sunday at 1 p.m. to the Art & Lorraine Gonzales Soccer Stadium for a pair of RMAC matches.
