COLORADO SPRINGS (October 25, 2016) - Colorado State University-Pueblo women's soccer defender Rianna Lockhart (R-So., Colorado Springs, Colo.) was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after guiding the ThunderWolves to a 2-0 weekend record and eighth win overall, setting a new program record.
Lockhart helped guide the ThunderWolves defense in two shutout wins over Colorado Mesa and Westminster, respectively.
Friday Lockhart and Co. held Colorado Mesa to just three shots in the game and two on goal in a 2-0 win. The Pack defense did not allow a corner kick to the Mavericks. Lockhart earned an assist on the first score in the contest.
Sunday against Westminster the ThunderWolves smothering defense limited the Griffins to nine shots in the contest and two corner kicks scoring a 1-nil victory over the Griffins.
For the weekend the Pack defense held the opposition to two corner kicks and twelve shot attempts. CSU-Pueblo's nine goals allowed is good for second best in the RMAC.
CSU-Pueblo (11-3, 8-2 RMAC) closes out the regular season on the road with matches at UCCS Friday followed by the finale Sunday at Western State Colorado University.
