PUEBLO, Colo. (October 27, 2016) – Colorado State University-Pueblo women's soccer, ranked 24th in the NSCAA Poll, ends the regular season on the road this week with matches Friday at University Colorado-Colorado Springs at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday finishing at Western State Colorado University in a matinee 1 p.m. kickoff.
The ThunderWolves (11-3, 8-2 RMAC) are riding an eight-game win streak and enter the national ranks for the first time in program history after sweeping their Parent/Senior Weekend matches Friday against Colorado Mesa and Sunday versus Westminster College. The Pack remains steady at fourth in the South Central Region.
The sweep also secured the Pack a spot in the upcoming RMAC Tournament.
Sunday the Pack defeated the Griffins 1-0 on Senior Day at the pitch. Pack Head Coach Paul Regrutto and his coaching staff honored nine seniors who are ending their Pack careers at the end of the season in a pregame ceremony.
Heading into the final weekend of the regular season, the ThunderWolves sit tied in conference points with Colorado School of Mines atop the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Standings. The Orediggers play Friday at Fort Lewis and Sunday at Adams State.
For her efforts Rianna Lockhart (R-So., Colorado Springs, Colo.) received RMAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
In sight for the Pack
CSU-Pueblo will play in its second postseason in three seasons Wednesday in the RMAC Quarterfinals. Location and Time is still to be determined.
