INDIANAPOLIS (November 7, 2016) – The No. 23 Colorado State University-Pueblo women's soccer team clinched its first NCAA Tournament berth in program history, in an announcement by the NCAA Monday. The ThunderWolves earned the No. 4-seed in the South Central Region and will play No. 5-seed Dallas Baptist University Thursday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. MT in Golden, Colorado in round one of the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Playoffs.
The ThunderWolves hold a 14-4-1 record and have won 11 of their last thirteen matches. The Patriots of Dallas Baptist went 11-5-4 overall and went 4-0-2 over the last two weeks.
The ThunderWolves finished runner-up in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament, falling 2-1 to Colorado School of Mines. DBU won the Heartland Conference Tournament 5-4 in penalty kicks after playing St. Edward's to a 0-0 draw through regulation.
Colorado Mines enters as the top seed and plays the winner of CSU-Pueblo/Dallas Baptist game Saturday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. MT in Golden.
Ticket prices for the first and second round are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and students.
Rounding out the region, Texas A&M Commerce earned the 2-seed and first round bye and plays host to the winner of #3 St. Edward's and #6 Midwestern State in the second round.
