CSU-Pueblo nets overtime win at Colorado Mesa

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (October 20, 2017) - Colorado State University-Pueblo women's soccer picked up a big win on the road Friday at Colorado Mesa University defeating the Mavericks 1-0 in overtime at Walker Field.

Junior Karley Whiteman (Alta Loma, Calif.) scored her second goal of the year in a little over a minute into overtime to secure the Pack win.

In the first half CSU-Pueblo was the aggressor managing eight shots in the period led by Cara Siegel (Fr., Pueblo, Colo.) and Michelle Moure (Jr., Peyton, Colo.) at three shots apiece.

The duo along with Jessica Westhoff (Sr., Centennial, Colo.) fired one shot on goal.

The second period CMU's offense came alive firing seven shots, keeping the ThunderWovles defense alert.

CSU-Pueblo goalkeeper Alexa Eastep (Fr., Henderson, Nev.) faced five shots on goal from the Mavericks.

The first registered play in overtime was the Whiteman goal with only one minute and three seconds expired.

Siegel finished with a game-high four shots.

CSU-Pueblo (6-6-1, 5-3-1 RMAC) wrap its road schedule Sunday in a matinee matchup at Westminster College. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m. at Dumke Field in Salt Lake City.
