ThunderWolves fall to Western N.M. in playoffs

RMAC Quarterfinals: Western New Mexico 7, CSU-Pueblo 2

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - CSU-Pueblo's women's tennis team saw its season end Friday when it fell 7-2 to Western New Mexico in the RMAC Quarterfinals.

The ThunderWolves saw its top player, Morgan Forsyth (So., Parker, Colo.) claim wins in both singles and doubles to give the Pack its only two team points.  Forsyth, who was fresh off being named an all-RMAC First-Team Selection Friday morning, cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win at one-singles over Stephanie Shelton, and joined with partner Andrea Ortiz (So., Pueblo, Colo.) to win 8-6 at one-doubles over Doris Berberic and Nikolina Vukadin.

Ortiz posted the most valiant losing effort among the T-Wolves Friday, rebounding a 6-0 first-set loss to Vukadin at two-singles before batting to a 7-5 loss in the second set.
