Women start to find form

After two uncomfortable losses yesterday, the CSU-Pueblo women were eager to get some satisfaction out of their tennis on Saturday.  By splitting a pair of matches against Fort Hays and Colorado Christian, the women can take heart in a better showing, but the team knows it can still improve.

Against Fort Hays, Morgan Forsyth (Fr., Aurora, Colo.) and Julie Wainwright (Sr., Aurora, Colo.) led the CSU-Pueblo charge by teaming up to record a victory at one doubles.  Forsyth and Wainwright also dominated at one and two singles, respectively.

Against Colorado Christian, the team found a better result, and the middle of the Pack’s lineup performed much better.  After taking a 2-1 points advantage into singles play, Wainwright, Tiffany Talmadge (Sr., Aurora, Colo.), and Val Boughton (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) all recorded victories.  The Pack was also the recipient of a default point at number six singles.

The women now return to Pueblo for a week of practice before heading to their annual midwest ITA tournament.
