RMAC Championships: 9th

CHADRON, Neb. - Headlined by a second-place finish and NCAA D-II provisional-qualifying time in the pentathlon by junior Jasmine Rollins (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.), the ThunderWolf indoor track and field team got their first taste of the RMAC Indoor Championships at Chadron State College Friday and Saturday.

Rollins' provisional point total of 3,209 was the Pack's lone national qualifier in a meet that saw the team finish 9th out of 10 teams in its first action in the conference tourney since 1993.  The Pack restarted its indoor track and field team this season.

Rollins also gained some team points for the Pack in the high jump, turning in a 5'-1.75" jump to finish 5th.

Sierra Jones (Fr., Denver, Colo.) put up good runs in the 55-meter dash, finishing 5th, and accumulating the remainder of the Pack's team points.

"It was good to see what the championships were like and get that experience under our belts," Pack coach Chad Perry said.  "Jasmine did a great job and we got some good runs out of Sierra.  I'm hoping Jasmine's provisional mark will hold up so we can send her to nationals."

Rollins' mark of 3,209 points in the penthathlon was better than the 3,100-point provisional qualification standard set by the NCAA.  Since she is a provisional qualifier, she is not guaranteed a spot in nationals, but will instead be considered when measured against all other provisional qualifiers.
