Wyatt, Willis earn bid to nationals

TURLOCK, Calif. (GoThunderWolves.com - May 17, 2011) - CSU-Pueblo's Danita Wyatt and Shilay Willis each received bids to the NCAA Division II National Championships, it was announced Tuesday.

Wyatt qualified in the triple jump by virtue of her 12.25m qualifying mark in the event, sixth-best in the nation. 

Willis, a true freshman sprinter, qualified for the 400-meter dash after a seed time of 55.09, 14th-best in the nation.

Their qualification marks the first time since CSU-Pueblo's track and field program was restarted in 2009 that a ThunderWolf has qualified for nationals.

The NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships, hosted by Cal State-Stanislaus, takes place at Warrior Stadium in Turlock, Calif. from May 26 to 28.
