COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Jan. 18, 2012) - For the first time since the program was resurrected in 2008, CSU-Pueblo tracksters swept the RMAC's player of the week awards as Blair Gilkes (Sr., Aurora, Colo.) and Holli Salazar (Jr., Hayden, Colo.) earned the conference's track and field honors.

The Pack duo finished highly at the Air Force Academy's All-Comers Meet last weekend, turning in numerous top-five finishes.

Gilkes, the RMAC's track athlete of the week, tied for fifth place in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.89 at the Air Force All Comers meet, narrowly missing out on her personal best in the event.

Salazar, the RMAC's field athlete of the week, broke her own school record in the weight throw on Friday at the Air Force All Comers meet. She surpassed her previous mark by nearly two feet. She placed fifth in the weight throw with a toss of 15.41 meters, and fifth in the shot put with a toss of 12.11 meters.

The honor marks the second time Gilkes has been named indoor track athlete of the week, securing her first honor Jan. 19, 2011.

In total, the duo's honors mark the fourth and fifth time since the program's resurrection in 2008 that CSU-Pueblo tracksters have earned RMAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honors.

Both will compete at the University of New Mexico Cherry & Silver Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. Saturday.
