Wyatt finishes 12th in long jump, 13th in triple jump
Pack senior loses shot to become indoor All-American.
MANKATO, Minn. (GoThunderWolves.com - March 9, 2012) - CSU-Pueblo senior Danita Wyatt (Sr., Aurora, Colo.) finished 12th in the long jump Friday at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, jumping 17 feet, 9-1/2 inches and falling short of an All-American honor.
Wyatt, who was an automatic qualifier in the long jump after uncorking a leap of 19 feet, 5 inches earlier in the season, was tied for the sixth-best jump in the nation going in to the Indoor Track and Field Championships.
She nearly matched that Friday, landing just shy of the 20-foot mark, but her best jump was ruled a foul.
Saturday, she finished 13th in the triple jump, falling short of All-American status. She could only execute one clean jump, getting fouls on the first two attempts.
