Lewis claims PR at CSU-LA Twilight Open
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (GoThunderWolves.com - April 19, 2012) - CSU-Pueblo junior Hayley Lewis (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) recorded a personal best in the 1,500-meter as the Cal State-Los Angeles Twilight Open got underway Thursday.
Lewis turned in a 4:59 in the 1,500-meter Thursday, finishing 12th in the 22-member field and setting a personal mark. She also ran the 800 in 2:30.30.
Also taking part in the meet was Holli Salazar (Jr., Hayden, Colo.), who finished 15th in the hammer throw with a 42.94-meter toss, just ahead of teammate Krystel Martinez (Fr., Pueblo, Colo.), who finished 20th in the event.
Martinez also took eighth in the discus throw, setting a collegiate-best and CSU-Pueblo school record with a throw of 43.03 meters.
The meet will continue tomorrow.
