NEW ORLEANS, La. (GoThnderWolves.com - May 16, 2012) - The United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has named Danita Wyatt (Sr., Aurora, Colo.) an All-Region selection in two events, the triple jump and the heptathlon.
Wyatt was an automatic qualifier in the triple jump, where she turned in the nation's fifth-best mark, and in the heptathlon, where she narrowly missed out on qualifying for nationals. She claimed an RMAC championship in the heptathlon and entered the week of the RMAC Championships ranked 15th in the nation in the heptathlon.
It marks the fourth All-Region honor in outdoor track and field for Wyatt and eighth overall (indoor and outdoor) for the Pack senior. In 2011, she was also named All-Region in the triple jump and the heptathlon during the outdoor season.
Wyatt will compete in the triple jump at the national championships, being held May 24-26 at CSU-Pueblo's Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl.
