Leah Rinfret is in her first season as a volunteer assistant
coach with the CSU-Pueblo women's track and field and cross country
programs.
Rinfret earned a B.A. from Willamette University, where she
ran track and cross country, and a J.D. from Capital
University Law School. As a former college athlete, Rinfret
was drawn to the emerging track and cross country programs at
CSU-Pueblo. Rinfret's former coach, Kelly Sullivan (Oregon
State University), was excited to hear that Rinfret has joined the
college coaching community: "I have been a collegiate coach
for 27 years now at three different levels; NCAA D-1, NJCAA and of
course NCAA D3 while Leah competed for me at Willamette University.
No question in my mind, she was one of the finest team leaders, was
incredibly loyal and Leah had a feel for what it meant to be a
student-athlete. Leah lead by example on and off the track
and from her sophomore year on, I was constantly encouraging her to
consider collegiate coaching someday. To know she is now involved,
truly makes me pleased for her, the program and of course the young
people she will be working with daily. If they listen, they will
learn a lot!"
Rinfret, an Ohio native, is currently employed as the Associate
Corporate Counsel for the Professional Bull Riders, Inc.
Rinfret is also working toward her Masters in Sports
Administration from Ohio University.
