Pack lays down in four-game loss to Adams
ALAMOSA, Colo. - The ThunderWolves saw an Adams State team run
roughshod over them Tuesday night, falling in four games to the
Grizzlies by mostly large margins, 19-30, 16-30, 30-23 and
15-30.
In each of the games that the Grizzlies won, they never trailed,
establishing early leads and essentially putting the nail in the
Pack's coffin just 15 to 20 points into each game.
In the game three win, the Pack's lone win on the night, rallies
behind the service of Lindsey Wilson and Melissa Jones saw the Pack
come back from a slim 17-16 disadvantage to go on a 14-6 run and
postpone the Grizzlies' match win.
But overall, Pack coach Chris Jonson said, the ThunderWolves team
that took the court Tuesday night was simply going through the
motions.
"We simply didn't show up," Jonson said. "I don't know if we were
tired or it's just now hitting us that our season is over, but we
had a lack of effort tonight."
The flashes of brilliance in its game three win was just enough to
frustrate CSU-Pueblo coaches and players, who saw the ability to
win, but the inability to keep up a consistent game.
"It showed that we had it in us," Jonson said. "We played well and
beat them soundly [in game three]. I just wish we could play that
way all night."
The loss drops the Pack to 6-20 on the season. It was the
ThunderWolves' eighth straight loss.
