The stage was set - the ThunderWolves had a chance to administer a hard right cross to Adams State Tuesday, potentially leading to the Pack's first conference win of 2008. Instead, it was just another missed opportunity.
Leading 22-15 in the third set with match tied at one win apiece, the ThunderWolves needed to just score three points before Adams State could score 10. Instead of going for the kill, Adams State's Andrea Tuck stepped up her game to a whole other level, recording seven kills as Adams State went on an 11-2 run. The ThunderWolves recorded three attack errors during Adams State's comeback.
The collapse was complete when Adams State jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the fourth and deciding set, and went through the motions in dominating the ThunderWolves with a 25-13 win.
The loss marks the Pack's ninth straight and fifth in as many conference games.
The ThunderWolves will seek retribution Friday when Mesa State comes to town for a date at Massari Arena. The match begins at 7 p.m.
