CSU-Pueblo to host Block Out Breast Cancer Event
PUEBLO, Colo. (Oct. 6, 2008) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo athletics department announces the second annual Block Out Breast Cancer event on Oct. 16 to help increase awareness of breast cancer while raising funds for cancer patients and their families.
The event will take place on Thursday, Oct. 16 when the ThunderWolves host the Chadron State College Eagles at 7 p.m. at Massari Arena. The first 500 fans will receive a commemorative gift, compliments of Parkview Medical Center.
All participants are asked to wear a pink shirt to receive a discounted admission ticket to the game. Half of all proceeds collected that night will be donated to the Orchard of Hope Foundation of Pueblo. Admission prices with a pink shirt will be $4.00 for adults, $2.00 for seniors, military or faculty/staff, and $1.00 for kids ages 7 - 12 years. Kids six and under will be admitted free of charge.
Fans can also purchase an official "Block Out Breast Cancer" t-shirt by visiting the Spirit Store, located at 4231 North Elizabeth Street. Official t-shirts go on sale Monday, October 13th and include two complimentary general admission game tickets for the event on Thursday. The Spirit Store will donate $5.00 of each t-shirt sale to the Orchard of Hope Foundation.
The event is supported by Parkview Medical Center, Orchard of Hope Foundation, the Spirit Store and CSU-Pueblo athletics.
