CSU-Pueblo's volleyball team gave a preview of the 2010 season this past weekend, going 3-1 in match play against RMAC schools and 4-1 overall in the ThunderWolves' Spring Tournament, held at Massari Arena.
The Pack earned wins over RMAC foes Colorado Christian, Western State and New Mexico Highlands, as well as Trinidad State Junior College. The Pack's only loss was to UC-Colorado Springs, losing in five sets.
“We showed some good improvement," Pack coach Chris Jonson said. "We have worked hard on getting faster and that was a big difference today. We focused on getting some good experience, running some more difficult plays, and playing great defense. We had our ups and downs but the team gained in confidence as the day progressed and as we get more consistent and we will only get stronger. Our additional incoming recruits this fall are only going to help in our improvement.”
CSU-Pueblo will kick off its 2010 volleyball season during the first week of September.
