ThunderWolves struggle against division-leading Mesa State
ThunderWolves eliminated from playoff contention with loss.
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Oct. 22, 2010) - CSU-Pueblo had a tough time keeping up with RMAC West Division-leading Mesa State Friday night, falling in three sets to the Mavericks.
The loss spoiled any of the ThunderWolves' dreams for the postseason, as they were officially eliminated from contention for the RMAC playoffs.
Pack errors defined the ThunderWolves' night, as they surrendered 34 points by way of errors, including seven of Mesa State's first 11 points in the first set as the Mavericks took an 11-5 lead en route to a 25-14 win.
Mesa State again dominated the Pack 25-18 in the second set before CSU-Pueblo got its footing in the third set, trading points with the Mavericks before Mesa State eeked out the 25-22 win in the clinching set.
CSU-Pueblo, now 7-14 and 2-10 in RMAC play, will travel to Durango to take on Fort Lewis Saturday night.
