Pack libero becomes first RMAC Player of the Week honoree since 2006.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Nov. 8, 2010) - CSU-Pueblo junior libero Ashley Michel (Jr., Brighton, Colo.) was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the RMAC announced Monday.
Michel set a school record for most digs in a three-set match with 29 against Western New Mexico, in what was the ThunderWolves' first win over the Mustangs since 2006. She posted 18 digs one night earlier against New Mexico Highlands. In two home wins, she averaged 6.71 digs per set.
On the season, she has averaged 4.88 digs per set, a CSU-Pueblo single season record. She also set the single-season mark last season, as well.
Michel becomes the first ThunderWolf to be named an RMAC Player of the Week in over four years. The last Pack player to do it, all-time rally scoring kills leader, Samantha Connelly, earned the honor on Oct. 23, 2006.
