CSU-Pueblo now in huge hole for 'Steel and Silver Series'

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. ( - Oct. 13, 2011) - CSU-Pueblo turned in its flattest performance of the season Thursday in a less than opportune time, hitting a dreary .000 in a three-set loss to UC-Colorado Springs, 25-17, 25-15, 25-9.

The loss puts the season series in the hands of UCCS, and by extension, awards the volleyball points in the "Steel and Silver Series" to the Mountain Lions.  UCCS has a commanding 10-2 lead with men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball showdowns completed.

The ThunderWolves converted the least amount of points it had in any match this season with 41 points, including just 21 kills.  It was just the third time this season CSU-Pueblo lost in straight sets.

CSU-Pueblo will attempt to rebound as it takes on 12th-ranked Metro State Friday and Regis, a team on the cusp of a national ranking, on Saturday.
