Pack drops third straight, but still in good shape for playoff spot.
DENVER, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Oct. 15, 2011) - CSU-Pueblo lost its third straight match Saturday in a three-set setback to Regis, falling 25-16, 25-12, 25-18.
For the ThunderWolves, it was the third loss in a weekend road slate of games that couldn't end soon enough, as the Pack won just one set over three matches.
The Pack hit -.045, which didn't compare to the .465 figure put up by Regis. CSU-Pueblo struggled on the attack, turning in just 15 kills while letting the ball fall defensively, mustering just 16 digs.
Though the weekend was horrific for the ThunderWolves, the team emerges in relatively good shape in the RMAC playoff picture. CSU-Pueblo, 10-10 overall and 6-6 in RMAC play, lost virtually no ground in a weekend that saw the conference's Eastern Division tee off on its Western Division counterparts in cross-divisional play. Both CSU-Pueblo and the team it was tied with for second place entering the weekend, Western New Mexico, each went 0-3. Division leader Adams State, which currently holds a two-game lead over the Pack, wasn't much better, going 1-2 this weekend.
The Pack returns home from its five-match road trip to host Colorado Mesa Friday and Fort Lewis in a Saturday matinee, the final two home matches of the regular season.
