Pack gets back to winning ways with victory over Mesa
Pack posts first season sweep of Colorado Mesa since 2003.
PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Oct. 21, 2011) - CSU-Pueblo got back in the win column after a three-match losing streak Friday, besting Colorado Mesa in four sets, 25-18, 25-19, 13-25, 25-15.
The win gives the ThunderWolves its first season sweep over the Mavericks since 2003.
CSU-Pueblo played strong for much of the night, using Mesa errors to its advantage and converting crucial points when it needed them.
Colorado Mesa's attack percentage of -.021 certainly helped matters throughout the match, but the Pack got big games from much of its usual suspects.
Alea Wildman (Sr., Denver, Colo.) led the Pack with 13 kills while Bernadette Pitre (Sr., Clifton, Colo.) was incredibly efficient, hitting .360 and collecting 12 kills. Pitre also added 10 blocks, part of 18 total team blocks turned in by the Pack.
CSU-Pueblo, now 11-10 and 7-6 in RMAC play, will attempt to strengthen its position for a playoff spot Saturday afternoon when it hosts Fort Lewis on "Senior Day" at 2 p.m.
