PUEBLO, Colo. ( - Nov. 8, 2012) - CSU-Pueblo junior setter Kacy Griffin (Jr., San Antonio, Texas) has been selected to the Capital One/College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District squad, CoSIDA announced Thursday.

Griffin, the Pack's starting setter, was a first-team Academic All-District selection after posting a 4.0 grade-point-average as a business major.  She was one of just three Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference players to earn first-team recognition.

By virtue of her first-team distinction, she is now eligible for Academic All-American honors.

Griffin becomes the first ThunderWolf to earn Academic All-District honors since 2003, when Tessa Accomasso and Darlene Tafoya earned the honor.  She also joins her coach, Jen Gomez (nee Salmans), who was a 1999 selection during her playing days at CSU-Pueblo.  She can become just the second Academic All-American in school history, joining Kathy Meehan, who won the honor in 1983.
