Pack's struggles continue with two more losses Saturday

SAN ANGELO, Texas ( - Sept. 7, 2013) - CSU-Pueblo unfortunately ended the Angelo State Invitational 0-4 after a pair of five-set losses to Dallas Baptist and Arkansas-Fort Smith Saturday.

CSU-Pueblo fell to UAFS 21-25, 25-22, 25-13, 23-25, 15-7 before coming up short against Dallas Baptist 25-19, 23-25, 22-25, 28-26, 15-11.

The losses were frustrating, especially in light of great performances gathered on the day from several standouts.

Morgan Wilkening (So., Fleming, Colo.) recorded 32 total kills over the two matches, hitting .176 in the loss to Arkansas-Fort Smith before hitting .241 with 17 kills against Dallas Baptist.  Marissa Calvillo (So., Rio Rancho, N.M.) set a career-high with 19 kills against UAFS, hitting .447, but couldn't keep up her dominance as she had just nine kills to six errors against Dallas Baptist.

As a team, the ThunderWolves were able to convert 14 team blocks against Dallas Baptist, a season high on the early campaign.

However, at 0-5 to start the year, the ThunderWolves are off to its worst start since 2007.  The Pack will, however, return to friendly terrain next weekend when it hosts the CSU-Pueblo Ramada Invitational.
