COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Oct. 22, 2013) - CSU-Pueblo senior setter Kacy Griffin (Sr., San Antonio, Texas) has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Academic Player of the Year, the RMAC announced Wednesday.

Griffin, the ThunderWolves' starting setter for the past three seasons, has held a perfect 4.0 grade-point-average at CSU-Pueblo as a business management major.  While succeeding at a very high level in the classroom, Griffin is consistently among the RMAC leaders in assists.  This season, she is averaging 9.28 assists per set.

Last season, Griffin Academic All-RMAC First Team honors, and later was named a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District First Team selection.

Griffin, who also received Academic All-RMAC First Team honors this year with the Academic Player of the Year honor, was joined by four teammates that achieved RMAC Academic Honor Roll distinction: Sierra Moran (Jr., San Diego, Calif.), Jordan Bruere (So., Rio Rancho, N.M.), Tanja Ranilovic (RFr., Belgrade, Serbia) and Marissa Calvillo (So., Rio Rancho, N.M.).

With the Academic Player of the Year honor, Griffin has also been nominated for Academic All-America honors.
