ThunderWolves Volleyball Voted 9th in RMAC Preseason Poll

PUEBLO, Colo. (August 18, 2014) ~ The Colorado State University-Pueblo volleyball team was tabbed ninth in the 2014 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Preseason Coaches Poll, released Monday by the conference office. The Pack garnered 71 points after finishing the 2013 campaign with a 7-12 league mark and a 10-19 overall record.

Defending regular season champion Colorado School of Mines was predicted to finish first in the poll, tallying 153 points and five first place votes. Junior outside hitter Taylor Sturms of Colorado Christian University was named the RMAC Preseason Player of the Year. Regis University's senior defensive specialist Maya Kirkeby was voted the preseason defensive player of the year, while the preseason setter of the year honor went to junior Danielle Johnson-Hazlewood of Colorado Mines.

Head coach Jen Gomez, who enters her fourth year at the helm of the Pack, and her squad open the 2014 season on Sept. 5 at the Midwestern State Tournament.
