PUEBLO, Colo. (April 1, 2015) ~ The Colorado State University-Pueblo volleyball team and head coach Jen Gomez will host several different camps this summer at Massari Arena.
All-Skills Clinic (June 15-17, Ages 8-14)
The All-Skills Camp is designed to give campers a challenging experience based on skill level. With the focus on all aspects of volleyball, training groups are established that ensure campers of instruction within their skill level. This camp is a must for players of all skill levels trying to brush up on fundamentals or learn the game for the first time. Our expert instructors, working within the group framework, train each camper to make her a better player and competitor.
Positional Clinics (July 20-21, Ages 14-18)
Libero/Defensive Specialist clinic is tailored to encompass the skills necessary to be a libero/defensive specialist. It will focus on serve receive passing, defensive positioning and techniques as well as serving.
Setter clinic will focus on setting footwork, touch, set placement, misdirection, and the variety of sets necessary to run an offense.
Outside/Right Side Hitter clinic will provide instruction regarding approach footwork, timing, arm swing, and the shots necessary (line/cross/tip/roll) to be an effective outside/right side hitter.
Middle Hitter clinic will concentrate on approach footwork, attacking, transition offense, and arm swing in order to be an offensive threat.
Advanced ID Camp (July 22-23, Ages 14-18)
The Advanced ID Camp is designed to provide intensive training and instruction in the various skills of volleyball and identify potential recruits. Campers will learn advanced team concepts, offensive and defensive strategies, as well as training in individual concepts.
Team Camp (July 24-25)
Designed for junior varsity and varsity high school teams. Tournament style with plenty of play over two days. Cost is $375/team. Contact Coach Gomez to register a team.
