COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (September 14, 2015) – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference named Colorado State University-Pueblo senior middle blocker Oni Lattin (Houston, Texas) RMAC Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, in a league announcement Monday.
Lattin led all players in the Steel & Silver Classic Sept. 11-12, co-hosted by CSU-Pueblo and University of Colorado Colorado Springs, with 28 blocks (seven more than second place), which included a tournament-best nine solo blocks (five more than second place). In the four matches (16 games) the ThunderWolves played, she averaged 1.75 blocks per game.
Lattin added 43 kills and hit .260 for the tournament, which was the eighth best percentage. She scored 61.5 points on the weekend and totaled five digs.
For her efforts she earned Steel & Silver All-Tournament Team honors.
The conference award is the first for the ThunderWolves this season and the first of Lattin's career at CSU-Pueblo.
The Pack (2-6) enter RMAC play with a road trip to New Mexico Sept. 18-19. The ThunderWolves battle Western New Mexico University Friday at 7 p.m. and New Mexico Highlands University Saturday at 7 p.m.
