DENVER, Colo. (October 3, 2015) – In the final contest of the weekend, the Colorado State University-Pueblo volleyball team fell in straight sets (16-25, 19-25, 15-25) to Regis University Saturday.
With the loss, the ThunderWolves drop to 4-11 (2-5 RMAC) and for the Rangers, the win improves them to 8-7 (5-1 RMAC).
Oni Lattin (Sr., MB/RS, Houston, Texas) and Mariangel Perez (Jr., OH/RS, Catia La Mar, Venezuela) tied for a team-high 10 kills. Elena Michalski (So., S, Longmont, Colo.) and Alex Sansavera (R-Sr., DS/S, San Antonio, Texas) both surpassed double-digits assists. Sansavera led the squad with 16, while Michalski set-up 12 points.
The Pack accumulated a .227 hitting percentage, but the Rangers out did them with an impressive .383 hitting percentage. Regis outdueled the ThunderWolves 52-34 in kills and 40-37 in digs.
Regis flexed its muscle early, downing the Pack 25-16 in the first set. From there, the Rangers kept their foot on the gas and took down CSU-Pueblo 25-19 in the second stanza, then 25-15 in the final frame to come away with a 3-0 victory.
The Pack remain on the road next weekend, this time against Colorado Mesa University Oct. 9 and newly-added RMAC opponent, Westminster University (Utah) Saturday Oct. 10.
