Full RMAC Release

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (August 15, 2016) – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released its annual preseason coaches poll and all-conference volleyball team. RMAC coaches ranked Colorado State University-Pueblo Volleyball No. 8 and senior Mariangel Perez (Catia la Mar, Venezuela) earned All-Conference honors.

The No.8 ranking matches the Pack's finish in 2015 when the ThunderWolves went 11-16 with a 9-9 conference record to qualify for their second consecutive conference tournament. The Pack could not upset No.1 seeded Colorado School of Mines in the opening round of the RMAC Tournament.

For Perez, the Preseason All-RMAC honor comes after receiving First Team All-RMAC honors for the second consecutive season in 2015. Should Perez accomplish a third consecutive All-RMAC selection, she would be the first student-athlete to accomplish this feat since Deborah Hunter (1985-1987).

Perez ranked eighth in the RMAC with 3.22 kills per game as a junior. She also contributed on the defensive side of the ball with 3.02 digs per set. Perez finished her 2015 campaign with 12 double-double efforts in 27 matches.

Additionally, Perez led the Pack with 20 service aces. She had career-high 40 total blocks in 2015.

CSU-Pueblo returns four starters in addition to Perez. Four newcomers join the Pack as they try to make an impact in the first season at CSU-Pueblo. Morgan Wilkening (Sr., Fleming, Colo.) a starter from two seasons ago will also return to the rotation for the Pack after missing 2015 due to injury.
