Pack Volleyball concludes season with loss to Adams

ALAMOSA, Colo. (November 10, 2017) Colorado State University-Pueblo Volleyball wrapped up the 2017 campaign with a 3-0 (23-25, 20-25, 23-25) loss to Adams State University Friday.

With three service aces Misha McDowell (Sr., Gilbert, Ariz.) ended her career on a high note. McDowell's .35 aces per set ties her for the third highest single season average in school history. Her 29 aces placed her fifth in the Pack's season rankings.

Playing in her final match at CSU-Pueblo, Elena Michalski (Longmont, Colo.) handed out 30 assists. Michalski also came up with seven digs and two blocks. 

PuaLehua Keola (Jr., Honolulu, Hawaii) and Brooke Schilling (Fr., Platteville, Colo.) each totaled 13 digs. Schilling led the Pack with a .429 hitting percentage. She knocked down six kills.

Melissa Nichols (Jr., McKinney, Texas) knocked down a team-high seven kills. Nichols also delivered a team-best four blocks.

Freshman Mallorie Post (Federal Way, Wash.) spiked down six kills in two sets. Caitlin Broadwell (Sr., Lawrence, Kan.) finished her career with six kills. 

The Pack led by as many as five in the first set, jumping in front 20-15. However, a 7-1 run from the Grizzlies put them back in front 22-21. Though the Pack would tie it up, Adams State escaped the first set 25-23.

Set two stayed close throughout. A 4-1 run put the Grizzlies up 21-17. The ThunderWolves cut the gap to two, but another 4-1 run handed the Grizzlies a 25-20 set two win.

CSU-Pueblo led for the majority of the third set. Trailing by one, Adams State used a four-point swing to jump in front 24-21. They closed out the Pack's season by winning the third set 25-23. 

The ThunderWolves wrapped up the season 4-22 with a 3-15 record in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matches.
