Herrera, Packard establish personal bests at Cougar Cowbell
LAKEWOOD, Colo. - CSU-Pueblo's Lindsey Herrera and Rebecca
Packard saved their best performance for the meet prior to the RMAC
Championships, turning in personal best times at the Cougar Cowbell
cross country meet.
Herrera turned in a time of 20:58, fourth in the field of 15, while
Packard, who finished 10th, cross the finish line with a 23:47
time.
The course was unique, consisting of dropoffs and hills for the
runners, but despite that, the Pack runners were up to the
challenge.
"The course was unique and challenging," Pack cross country coach
Chad Perry said. "But they were ready to run, and it was great that
they put up their personal bests."
Herrera has made monumentous strides after being a late addition to
the team this season. This is the second straight meet where she
has posted a personal best, a trendy Perry thinks she will continue
going into the RMAC Championships next weekend.
"Lindsey had a great week of work, and she is running right where
she needs to be going into the RMAC," Perry said.
Herrera and Packard were the only two ThunderWolf runners to
compete at the meet, and as a result, the team was unable to
qualify for a team score.
