Young Pack runners show improvement at UNK
KEARNEY, Neb. - The ThunderWolves continued to show improvement at the Loper Open in Kearney, Neb. Saturday, finishing 9th as a team as all runners cut times from the previous meet.
Led by the team's top finisher Michele Herrera (Fr., Pueblo West, Colo.), who finished the 6k in 25:32, the ThunderWolves saw improvements across the board. Lindsey Herrera (Sr., Pueblo West, Colo.) and Aubree Alley (Fr., Walsh, Colo.), also showed promise with times of 26:43 and 27:41, respectively.
"Though we didn't finish high as a team, I was pleased with our effort," Pack coach Chad Perry said. "The runners cut times and they pushed themselves today, and it was good to see them take that step."
The ThunderWolves will look to carry over this tune-up to the RMAC Championships on Oct. 25 in Grand Junction.
