Pack shows improvement at Rust Buster
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - CSU-Pueblo made some valuable strides in its first cross country meet of 2009, finishing 6th at the 8-team UCCS Rust Buster Invite.
The ThunderWolves were able to outrun conference foe, Colorado Christian, as well as get personal bests from several of its runners. Aubree Alley (Jr., Walsh, Colo.) set a personal best by over two minutes, turning in an 18:58 in the 4K run. The Pack was led by freshman Hayley Lewis (Fr., El Mirage, Ariz.), who ran 16:52, pacing the Pack in her first collegiate meet.
"We are making some great improvement and it's encouraging to see," Pack coach Chad Perry said. "Overall, this is the fastest team from top to bottom that we've had here, and they're only going to get better."
The Pack will take a week off before heading back to Colorado Springs Sept. 19 for the Colorado College Invitational.
